The Southfield-Lathrup Falcons introduces and encourages the game of football and cheerleading to youth while teaching them life skills and teamwork. Our mission is to mentor local area youth and teach them life skills that nurture their emotional and social needs, inspire them to work to their full potential, cultivate positive relationships, and become productive adults that contribute to society in the future, while engaged in the sport of football and cheerleading.
The Southfield-Lathrup Junior Football League (Falcons) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1955 to provide youth football, cheer, and dance programs in Southfield, Lathrup Village, and other surrounding areas. Today, the organization is a proud member of the Southeast Michigan Youth Football League - Sound Mind, Sound Body. We are also proud of the fact that our organization consists of volunteers. No board members or coaches are paid, and every one of our volunteers is committed to enhancing the lives of the children in the program. Background checks are conducted on every volunteer and each year they become Red Cross CPR certified.
Our program has fostered the growth of NCAA and NFL players alike. Currently, there are approximately seven former Falcons playing several in the National Football League. We have former Falcon players that have excelled in their adult lives in multiple occupations including medicine, law enforcement, real estate, engineering, education, the military, and much more. The Southfield-Lathrup Falcons would like to welcome you to our Association. Our Association participants range from ages 5 - 14 years old. Our home games are played at Southfield High School for the Arts & Technology on Saturdays and Sundays. We are also welcome to play home games at Orchard Lake St. Mary's, University of Detroit Jesuit, Catholic Central H. S. and Bloomfield H.S. on occasion. Please make an effort to get involved for the benefit of both your child, and yourself…we promise it will be a rewarding experience for both of you!
